Friday's Quote: Erich Segal

Sometimes, true love . . . real love . . . comes quietly.  It really isn't about the flash, whistles, bells, or firecrackers that happen when one first sets eyes on another.  Sometimes it's not even about recognizing one's soul mate at first glance and having that instant connection.

Sometimes, it's recognizing that true love had always been there, always present, especially when everyone else has left.  It's recognizing that it's the love that one takes for granted because the love was always constant and always given so freely.  True love is a love that's so quiet, that it doesn't contain or fence in the other.  It's just there for the giving and taking.

Sunlight

Over the years, especially living in Minnesota during the winter, I've been trying my very best to see the positive in little things and to not take for granted all the wonderful and magical goodies from Mother Earth.  I'm very appreciative of having sunlight during the winter, even if it doesn't warm me up.  Just seeing the sun makes me feel very happy.

There are too many days where the weather's so cloudy and stormy that the sun can't even penetrate through the various moody veils of winter. Then there are days, like today, where it's sunny out, but the temperature is -20 degrees F. I especially love that it's that time of the year (again) where I actually get to see some sunlight after leaving work.

Well, I'm hoping you're getting more sunlight (and more warmth) than I'm getting here.  Comment and let me know how you're doing.

Tuesday's Tune: Heartbeat Song

Who does not love Kelly Clarkson?  I'm loving her newest release, "Heartbeat Song."  Like the other song I shared, I first heard this song while in spin class.  This song makes me want to jump up and dance, making up my own dance moves.

What I love so much about this song is the feeling it gives me; of emerging from a long, foggy trip and finding my happy self again.  Lately, I've been more sure of where I'm going and what I'm doing. I'm recognizing the coming together of my heart and mind (take my word, I've worked so long and hard to get the two to be on the same path) and being ready to turn up my own personal happy heartbeat song and grooving to it.  (I've been dancing to the tune of my own song all along, the only big difference is that it was stuck in a sad mood for a long time.)

I hope this song makes you smile and gets you grooving too.  Let me know what you think of this song.

Happy Valentine's Day

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Valentine's Day.  So far today, I've had a yummy lunch at a cafe, coffee, and lots of dessert.  I'm enjoying the company of loved ones and good friends.  Of course, celebrating love in my own way.

Have a happy Valentine's Day!

Friday's Quote: Thomas Matthiessen

"Life is beautiful in its simplicity." ---Thomas Matthiessen

I had a rather busy week and today was the busiest (and probably the most stressful).  So, after work, I finally went shopping for food and then came home to cook dinner for myself.  I originally wanted a hot cooked meal, but somehow ended up putting together a simple meal of olives, bread, cheese, hard-boiled egg, and a clementine.  It was so simple, but the most perfect meal to end the day with.  I'm feeling very blessed today, despite the week I've had.

Life really is beautiful in all of its simplicity.  I hope you're have a great day.  Please feel free to share with me, what simplicity you find to be so beautiful.

Tuesday's Tune: Talking Body

Tove Lo's slightly depraved song was a big hit in the US this past year.  Today, I wanted to share her song, "Talking Body."  I actually like this song a lot better.

I've been waiting for a song with a cool and catchy beat to add to my workout, and this song is it.  I first heard it in my spin class and had been thinking about it.  Then the other day I heard it on the radio (of course, the clean version) and learned that it was sung by Tove Lo.  Just an FYI, the version I have here is probably the original song and is NOT clean.  Clean or not, I really like the lyrics.
Let me know what you think of this song.
